Here is the history about Astrology. The Sanskrit word for Astrology, Jyotish translates as the knowledge of light. The Astrology are the source teachings of Indian culture and of a universal spirituality. Their origin predates recorded history more then six thousand years ago. Even though the Astrology are thought to be the oldest books known to mankind, at least five thousands years old, but the " Sciences" are still practiced today. The Astrology was cognized by Rishis (sages), who passed on their wisdom by telling it to the next generation. The oral tradition continues to this day, although a portion of the information is written down. The Astrology pose questions and answers to our ultimate concerns about life, birth and death, suffering and happiness, poverty and prosperity, consciousness, and the eternal. The Rishis developed six branches (Vedangas) to help us understand the Astrology. Astrology is one branch created to help us see our way through life with greater clarity. The eighteen sidhantas (documents ) had been written by famous Sages and astronomers e.g. Surya , Pitamaha , Vayas , Vashishta , Atri , Parashara , Kashyap , Narad , Garg , Mirich Manu , Angira, Lomash , Polish , Chayvan , Yvan , Bhrigu , Shonak , etc The purposes of a Astrology consultation are to use our conscious free will to learn more about the destiny-patterns influencing our lives, and discuss and implement measures that may help lessen suffering and enhance well-being. The ultimate goals of Astrology are to help us lead lives more in harmony with our deepest nature, and enhance our awareness of the light of consciousness. By using scientific and precise methods developed for thousands of years, astrologers have become trusted advisors in all areas of life and are respected professionally. Astrologer makes a chart for prediction that is called Janampati (Horoscope). After reading the horoscope astrologer is able to predict someone’s Past, Present and Future also. Astrologer follows the principle of astronomy also for the calculation of the movement of nine planets which is called gochar (transit).
